De “Reformation 500 conference” in Bumala viel samen met de “Reformed Baptist Association of Kenya” (RBAK) en deze bijeenkomst bracht ruim 70 pastors van over het hele land naar Bumala. Dit was niet alleen om te gedenken wat Maarten Luther deed op 31 oktober 1517 maar ook om onszelf af te vragen wat we vandaag kunnen doen! Deze conferentie is door velen beschreven als de “Revival 2017 in Kenya”, vanwege de aard van de ontwikkelingen en voortgang en vanwege de manier waarop de deelnemers de Hervorming omarmd hebben, waardoor we allemaal terug geleid zijn naar de Bijbel om daarin alles te vinden voor wat het geloof en het leven met God betreft. Een andere bijzonderheid van deze conferentie is dat het voor het hele land een teken was van eenheid en vrede, vooral nu er zoveel polarisatie is op basis van etniciteit! Hier was de enige aanwezige etnische stam, de vergaderde Zonen van de Heer Jezus Christus. Veel liefde werd getoond en betoond door alle stammen die hier aanwezig waren als afgevaardigden, afkomstig van zo ver als het noorden van Kenia en ook uit de kuststreek!

The Bumala Kenya Reformation 500 conference together with the Reformed Baptist Association of Kenya (RBAK) meeting brought well over 70 pastors from all over the country to Bumala.This was not just to remember what Martin Luther did on 31st October, 1517 but to ask ourselves what we can do today! This conference has been described by many as the Revival 2017 in Kenya because of the nature of the proceedings and the way the participants embraced Reformation which has led all of us back to the Bible for all matters faith and life. Another peculiar thing with the conference is that it was a sign to the whole country for unity and peace especially now when there is a lot of polarization based on ethnicity!here,the only ethnic tribe present was the Sons of the Lord Jesus Christ. Alot of Love was shown by all the tribes that were here as delegates who came from as far as Northern part of Kenya and the coast region!
